WHAT:
1,000 Books before
Kindergarten (also known as 1KB4K), is a new early literacy experience that we
are now offering for children and families. This new reading experience that we
are offering encourages families and caregivers to read 1,000 books with their
children before they enter Kindergarten. I
know what you’re thinking. “What if we don’t finish?” That’s okay! There
are NO RULES. You can go at
your own pace.
WHEN:
Sign up now! You can come in to the Idea Place, or you
can sign up from home through the Idea Place blog (Remember, if you sign up
from home, come in to the Idea Place to pick up your 1KB4K Kit and Registration
Prize.
WHY:
At the Idea
Place we want to partner with parents to give children a reading experience
which will only prepare them before reaching Kindergarten. By simply reading
aloud to children from birth, it will build strong vocabulary skills as well as
strengthen their language skills. Together, we could provide children with the
opportunity to have a concrete foundation to succeed not only through
Kindergarten but throughout the continuation of their schooling years.
